ICT In The Classroom

If you could convince the teachers to use more computers, internet, cameras or anything digital in class what would you tell them?

This is your chance to share with other teachers:

Why you like using computers and other equipment like digital cameras or cell phones in class.

Do you think it makes a difference to how you learn? Why?

How does it help you with your learning?

This is a chance to tell teachers what you think!

**Teachers you are welcome to add a comment too**

Here's a cool gadget your class might like. I want one to do podcasting, record songs or anything noisy with. http://tinyurl.com/cc8sww

I think that the value of using the internet as a publishing option for work can't be understated. I think its a valuable tool for motivating students and also allows a truly, truly global perspective from your classroom. Finally it allows you to share your culture with students and people around the world.

I know my kids like to publish their work on our blog because they want to share. They want family and friends to see what they've done and it's much easier to do via the web than getting their family to visit class and read their books.
They love it when someone comments on their work - it gives them a real purpose for writing. Feedjit, clustrmaps and other widgets let them see where in the world their work has been read - they really get a kick out of it when a new country or city appears in their statistics.

The web provides new perspectives for my learning, where my thinking is challenged by the interactions with others and I can participate whenever and wherever…and it can also be fun!

I would echo what my worthy colleagues have already written. I might also add that there are benefits for the teacher as well. I have made many new friends and learned so much from my journey in ICT.

Does this mean you want students to be able to play games such as Lego Star Wars II in a classroom, like the two students in the photo are doing?
